Why Train with Us?

We specialise in training in integrative counselling and psychotherapy. This means we offer an active engagement with the main psychotherapy traditions:
  • Humanistic – the 'person to person' relationship
  • Psychodynamic – the importance of the unconscious and early years
  • The Body – the physical basis of emotion, experience, growth and change, including what neuroscience and attachment studies have taught us in more recent years
  • Transpersonal – the experience beyond our material one, whilst addressing the impact of the social and political environment on our relationships
Flexibility

Our courses are designed in a modular format which allows you to train at a pace that best suits your needs. We may accredit prior learning for those who have trained elsewhere and wish to extend or update their qualifications. We offer a monthly installment plan to help spread the cost of fees.

Study Support

We have made a conscious decision to limit our growth so that we can retain a personal approach to training where we know our students as individuals. We are regularly praised by our external examiners for the quality and quantity of feedback we give students on their written work. We have a small but well stocked library which is refreshed annually and students have access to online resources including PsychArticles.

Career Support

Many of our graduates become members of the Minster Centre, which brings a number of benefits including the possibility of referrals from our low cost therapy service, networking events, seminars and a listing on our directory on qualification.

Professional Accreditation

Our diploma courses are accredited by the key UK professional bodies, the BACP and the UKCP. They can lead to a Master's Degree awarded by the Middlesex University. Please see here for study routes.

No hidden costs

Supervision is an integral part of our diploma training rather than an additional and unexpected cost. All other compulsory course components are included in our fees, apart from individual therapy.

Clinical Experience

In most cases, we are able to refer 'training clients' to our students via our low cost therapy service. Our Placement Co-ordinator also keeps an up to date database of suitable organisations offering clinical placements.

Both training clients and placements will help you accrue the necessary client hours for graduation and accreditation with the BACP or UKCP.

Our two in-house community projects, the Mapesbury and Families Without Fear, also offer placements to suitable students.

Open Evenings

Our open evenings offer a chance to learn more about the nitty gritty of our courses, our ethos, along with what we both need and expect from prospective students. Former students are usually around for an informal chat and to help with tours of the building.
