WITH ADOLESCENTS & ADULTS WITH EATING DISORDERS This one-day workshop will be run twice on:

This training will focus on working with people suffering from anorexia nervosa and bulimia and will cover:-
- NICE guidelines for treatment and management
- Psychological and physical effects of starvation
- Warning signs, diagnosis and treatment
- Working within a multi-disciplinary setting
- Integrative ways of working therapeutically, with particular attention to psychodynamic and systemic methods.
- Exploration of the patient’s internal world, and countertransference responses of the therapist.
Training methods include – teaching, small group and large group discussion, clinical discussion of a paper.
About The Tutor
Julia Denington, Dip and MA Integrative Psychotherapy, UKCP.
Prior to qualifying as a psychotherapist, Julia worked for 15 years as a social worker, within the voluntary sector, social services and for the NHS.
Julia currently works with adolescents in a CAMHS service in Richmond, and with adults in a private hospital setting, suffering with eating disorders. Julia has extensive experience of assessments, individual work, family work and group work with people with eating disorders. She maintains a private practice for people experiencing a range of mental health problems, in Kew, Surrey.
