Seminars
Seminars introduce students to a range
of theories, histories and practices in psychotherapy and counselling.
They combine lectures and group discussions and require students to
produce essays and give presentations.
Experiential Training Groups
Experiential training groups make the personal development
of the student the prime focus. Group leaders facilitate students'
personal exploration as well as the development of interactions within
the group.
Training Client Experience
Students in later years of study begin working with training
clients. All training clients are assessed by staff at the Minster
Centre, and students are closely supervised while in practice. During
final years of training, clinical experience extends to work in hospitals
and other mental health settings.
Continuous and Open Assessment
To pass courses, students must be proficient in all areas
of their training – in written, experiential and clinical elements.
In accordance with the Minster Centre's approach, assessment is continuous
and open. It includes self-assessment, peer assessment, tutor assessment
and assessment by external examiners.
